I was born and raised in Hawai'i. Family, hard work, and humility were how things ran in my house. Everything that came after, the field, the failures, the rebuilds, got built on that.
Four years at the University of Hawai'i built something in me before it took anything away. Special teams captain. A WAC Championship team. Then the game ended, the way it ends for almost everyone who isn't one of the very few who go pro, and I had to find out whether I was actually anything without it.
I traded the field for ownership. Not because I had a plan, but because building was the only way I knew how to keep competing. I started in insurance, quit to launch my first business in real estate, and watched it fail two years later. I went back to a job I'd already left once.
I got married in 2014. Built again, this time in fashion and entertainment. By 2018 the marriage had ended too, and I went through the same process I'd gone through at 22: strip everything down, find out what was actually left, rebuild from there. That year I sold the fashion brand, founded an insurance adjustment firm, and kept going.
The next five years were more of the same pattern at bigger scale. Real estate development. A second insurance agency, built and sold. Hawaiian Building Supply, founded in 2022. By 2024 that company had supplied 115+ homes to the largest modular housing development in Hawai'i's history, and crossed 300+ structures total across every project combined.
I'm in the middle of the pattern again right now, through boxing and martial arts, on a ten-year path I started in 2026. Different arena, same process. Competition ends. Identity gets stripped down. You find out what's actually yours and rebuild from there. I've done it four times now.
